The State of Michigan is seeking an experienced Azure Architect to design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role will focus on cloud migrations, infrastructure design, and ensuring alignment with state IT policies and security standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable, secure Azure solutions for state departments.
- Lead cloud migration efforts from on-premise to Azure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Develop architecture blueprints, migration strategies, and implementation roadmaps.
- Ensure compliance with security and governance standards.
- Conduct cloud assessments and recommend optimizations.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to technical teams.
- Stay current with Azure features, trends, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in Azure cloud architecture.
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Expertise in Azure services (compute, storage, networking, security).
- Strong knowledge of cloud migration, IT security, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in government/public sector IT.
