Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Hybrid - Remote 3-4 days & Onsite 1-2 day per week in Northfield, IL
Our client is a leading healthcare organization looking to bring a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer onto their team due to growth! This person will be responsible for supporting various projects for the organization from an infrastructure perspective – both on-premise and cloud based. Responsibilities include engineering infrastructure solutions, collaborating with stakeholders to understand needs & provide insights/direction, creating design documentation, etc. for projects. Strong knowledge in Infrastructure as Code, Cisco, Firewalls, AWS, Azure, Data Centers, Storage, Networking, etc. will be crucial for this role! They’re looking for an individual who is a team player & thrives working in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Define, document and oversee infrastructure strategies, standards, and roadmaps that meet IT strategy and long-term business needs.
- Hold a strong understanding and provide expertise of the cloud service environment, including AWS and Azure.
- Work with various tools to design, create, and automate infrastructure solutions.
- Lead technical discussions, design reviews, infrastructure code reviews, and take on project management responsibilities.
- Configure infrastructure management platforms.
- Provide guidance and best practices to enhance end-to-end automation of infrastructure.
- Work with technology vendors such as HPE, Palo Alto, Cisco, and Pure Storage.
- Focus within Azure, AWS, virtual networking, containers (ECS, Fargate), multi-region environments, storage solutions (S3, NetApp, etc.), disaster recovery, VPN, and enterprise networking.
- Work with NAS, compute, hypervisors, backup technologies, Active Directory and firewall management.
- Develop technical infrastructure solutions and create high-level design documentation based on requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for infrastructure & operations cloud & on-premise architectural designs, guidelines, and principles.
- Offer technical and functional expertise to support the development and maintenance of the roadmap.
- Provide process improvements related to infrastructure and operations issues.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering
- Ability to gather business requirements & provide project management as needed
- 5+ years of experience deploying and operating on public cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Infrastructure as code experience (CloudFormation, ARM, or BICEP)
- Strong experience with On Premise infrastructure
- Experience with Services, Storage, Networking, Disaster Recovery
- Strong communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree
