Who is the Manager, DevOps Infrastructure, APAC Technology (2 year-contract role)?
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Infrastructure Manager to take ownership of our cloud and data center infrastructure across Asurion’s APAC platforms. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering reliable and scalable technology solutions that underpin our services, including device protection, tech support, trade-in programs, and more.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Ownership of Infrastructure: Managing the platform infrastructure across various APAC product suites, including Device Protection, Upgrade, Open Market, Trade-In, and Direct to Consumer. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that technological solutions align with overall business objectives and strategies. Lead and manage IT system enhancements and implementation projects.
- Day-to-Day Infrastructure Support Management: Responsible for dealing with day-to-day IT Infrastructure and DevOps activities across both on-premises and cloud data centres in the APAC region.
- Drive Standardization: Standardize the infrastructure procedures and processes across all locations of data centres and cloud hosting. Develop and implement a comprehensive DevOps strategy aligned with the goals and objectives of Asurion IT & Security Governance. Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code practices to automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure components.
- Leading DevOps & Infrastructure Teams: Lead and mentor a team of DevOps professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Oversee the establishment and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for efficient and automated software delivery and manage infrastructure and desktop support team members spanned across the multiple countries in APAC region.
- Collaboration & Governance: Coordinating with the global network teams, security teams, regional platform development and client solution engineering teams (offshore) to ensure that infrastructure requirements are fulfilled to support and manage the client rollouts on time.
- Security Governance: Security is the paramount importance in Asurion, so this position is fully responsible to work together with Global DevOps, Platform Security, Enterprise Architecture, Legal, and Compliance to make sure that the infrastructure of APAC platforms is meeting all necessary Asurion platform security standards as part of continuous improvement to the platforms. This role will work with global security teams to implement the latest security frameworks and best practices to APAC platform infrastructure to address all kinds of security vulnerabilities, threads and risks, including regular audits.
Here’s what you’ll bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering (all branches), math, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- At least 10+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure, DevOps, and Information Security, with 5+ years of strong experience managing large-scale infrastructure on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or equivalent certifications preferred.
- Strong familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform for streamlining infrastructure setup, deployment, and management.
- Comprehensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including managing large-scale infrastructure and deploying applications.
- Proficient in tools like Docker and Kubernetes for packaging, orchestration, and efficient application deployment and expertise in using code and scripting to set up, automate, and manage technical systems, including servers and cloud environments.
- Proven track record of fostering DevOps practices, emphasizing collaboration, efficiency, transparency, and continuous improvement in software development and operations.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues, propose effective solutions, and ensure projects stay on track while addressing infrastructure and operations challenges.
- Strong ability to convey technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, manage expectations, and provide updates to leadership.
- Skilled in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and related automation tools with in-depth understanding of security best practices for infrastructure, applications, and DevOps processes, including knowledge of networking protocols, authentication, cloud security, and applied cryptography.
- Knowledgeable in leveraging AI/ML and Generative AI to automate DevOps tasks such as deployments, monitoring, and alerting.
- Adept at overseeing multiple projects, managing timelines, and delivering results within deadlines while ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- An effective team player capable of sharing knowledge and supporting team goals while also working independently and making sound decisions, eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Skilled in engaging with offshore-based teams for development, support, and operational management.
