Overview
The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the overall management, environment optimization , planning, design, administration, monitoring, and overall maintenance of Cloud Computing Infrastructure. This associate will consult with other teams to work through the day-to-day support of Cloud administration.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and monitor infrastructure in public clouds (AWS, Azure) using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Designing and supporting core AWS platform architectures, including:
- Organizations, Account Design, VPC, Subnet, segmentation strategies
- Backup and Disaster Recovery approach and design
- Environment and application automation
- Infrastructure as Code (TerraForm) automation approach/strategy
- Network connectivity, Direct Connect and VPN
- AWS Cost Management and Optimization
- Assist in the Creation and management of gold images / AMI’s
- Create IAM users and groups using Terraform
- Maintain availability of critical AWS Cloud infrastructure. To include configuration changes to AWS Cloud Services and shared services,
- Propose, develop, and support automation solutions for source code deployment and configuration management.
- Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
- Deploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
- Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
- Configure multi-factor authentication on virtual and hardware devices
- Follows company Change Management processes for the implementation of changes in the Production network environment.
- Resolves Help Desk tickets related to areas of assigned responsibility. Uses advanced problem analysis skills to isolate and identify user problems, including issues escalated by other team members.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and irregular hours.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience3-5 Years of Cloud Services Experience:
- Have at least 1 AWS Associate or Professional Certification
- Additional Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) a plus
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with Terraform experience and familiarity with Ansible (or equivalent, e.g., Chef, Puppet, SaltStack)
- Scripting capability and the ability to develop AWS environments as code
- Understanding of Infrastructure as a Service, Infrastructure as Code, and related concepts on public cloud
- Experience with Security Groups and IAM (Identity and Access Management) CloudWatch (Monitoring, Logging), Debugging and Tracing on AWS Cloud Platform)
- Experience with Databases, including knowledge of SQL and MySQL, and related data stores such as Postgres.
- Experience with Git, and strong skills with JSON
- Experience with Cloud computing Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), DNS, CDN, Load Balancing, and Auto Scaling.
- 3-5 Years On-Premise Experience:
- Solarwinds Enterprise Monitoring and Alerting
- Working Knowledge of Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- VMWare ESX and vSphere
- Maintaining storage systems and hyper-converged systems

Posted Salary Range
USD $100.86 - USD $151.29 /Yr.
