Senior Cloud Engineer (Microsoft, AWS, Azure)
Optomi, in partnership with a leader within the energy industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer for their Charlotte, NC location! This Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for participating in cloud initiatives to provide guidance and working closely with the Cloud Security initiative group to work with Jira and come up with security gaps that need to be addressed and assigned to different teams. The individual is expected to protect sensitive data, understand security controls in the cloud, as well as data protection and privacy. Experience of the right candidate:
- 5+ years of experience in cloud security with a focus on data protection and privacy.
- Strong expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud environments.
- Cloud Security Certifications (Microsoft, AWS, Azure).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, MCAS, and Microsoft Defender.
- Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies and data security frameworks.
- Strong understanding of upload/download security policies and cloud access controls.
Responsibilities of the right candidate:
- Participate in cloud security initiatives and provide strategic guidance.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity architects and cloud security teams to implement security controls.
- Identify, assess, and remediate security gaps within cloud environments.
- Ensure data protection, privacy, and compliance across cloud platforms.
- Work on Microsoft Purview (Microsoft Protection), MCAS, and Microsoft Defender to enhance cloud security.
- Implement Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies for securing sensitive data.
- Optimize security policies and controls to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving cloud security best practices.
