Who is Beast Code?
Beast Code began in 2014 as a small group of friends with a dream to transcend the traditional defense solution paradigm. Today, we are a workforce of approximately 200 beasts headquartered in Fort Walton Beach and driving the next wave of software development and technology on the Emerald Coast of Florida. Our projects are increasing as we build better solutions for industrial and commercial organizations.
DevOps Engineer Description
Beast Code is searching for a DevOps Engineer to serve as a sensei of sorts, helping find balance between development and operations as it relates to releasing new software and ensuring it is stable and reliable.
To join our dojo, this DevOps Engineer must be proficient in using Kubernetes and Helm to assist in the development, deployment and operation of secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure, platforms, and applications in both on-site and multiple cloud environments. The DevOps Engineer should be a confident communicator and comfortable collaborator who can work closely with Cybersecurity, IT Operations, and Software Engineers in a team atmosphere to create new IT environments and features — and maintain existing ones — for developers and customers alike.
Beast Code has become renowned for our understanding and application of the DoD DevSecOps reference architecture, which calls for a zero-trust architecture that utilizes a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline, ensuring that all services and applications are secure and can be rapidly deployed or updated on-demand with minimum disruption to availability. At the heart of this capability is a Kubernetes-powered container orchestration system coordinated with Helm Charts, therefore our ideal DevOps Engineer candidate is a Kubernetes and Helm subject matter expert capable of handling the security, availability, and performance of multiple Kubernetes clusters and the applications/services they run.
The DevOps Engineer must also possess a strong practical knowledge of IT automation and configuration management using cloud-native, open-source tools, and software engineering techniques/methodologies. Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines is another skill our SRE should possess.
If you check all the above boxes, then punch your way through the long list of requirements below. If you make it to the end and you’re still sure you have what it takes, then reach out to us and come kick down the door for your interview. No worries, no board-breaking tests will be applied. But we do have some pretty tight security parameters here, so please don’t literally kick our doors. The paperwork would be unfathomable.
