About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Research and Development team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in CI/CD platform engineering, monitoring and alerting, security improvement, infrastructure management, and database administration. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of DevOps best practices to enhance system reliability, scalability, and security.
This position will give preference to applicants in St. George, Utah.
What You'll Do
CI/CD Platform Engineering:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure efficient application deployment.
Monitoring And Alerting
- Implement and maintain monitoring solutions using Prometheus and Grafana.
- Set up alerting mechanisms to proactively detect and resolve system issues.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize system reliability.
Infrastructure Management
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on AWS.
- Monitor and optimize AWS resource utilization to ensure cost efficiency.
- Manage authentication and authorization using Keycloak.
Database Administration
- Perform database administrative tasks for Redshift and MongoDB.
- Monitor database performance and optimize queries.
- Ensure data integrity and availability through backup and recovery strategies.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and networking.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD tools and automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Experience in managing and optimizing Redshift and MongoDB databases.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Docker.
- Familiarity with GitHub for source code management and workflow automation.
- Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
Technical Skills
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with authentication and authorization management using Keycloak.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Helm for container orchestration.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification.
- Docker Certified Associate (DCA) certification.
- Experience in implementing and managing DevSecOps practices.

The Pay Range For This Role Is
120,000 - 135,000 USD per year(STG)
