We’re a post-PMF B2B startup with ARR growing exponentially every month. With customer usage exploding, we’ve reached a tipping point where we need a dedicated DevOps Engineer to own our infrastructure and reliability. Our current infra stack is a mix of
Heroku and AWS, but we’re planning to migrate off
Heroku this year due to scaling limitations and cost inefficiencies.
This role is crucial in
freeing up engineers from DevOps tasks, optimizing infrastructure to
reduce spend, and ensuring our systems are
reliable, scalable, and secure.
We’re building a team in
San Francisco, CA and Tempe, AZ locations.
What You’ll Own & Drive
- Lead our migration off Heroku – Evaluate and execute the right infrastructure strategy as we scale.
- Optimize cloud costs – Identify inefficiencies and make infra right-sized to pay for itself.
- Site reliability & DevOps processes – Build better QA, monitoring, and incident response systems to improve uptime and mitigate risk.
- CI/CD & automation – Improve deployment workflows and developer efficiency.
- Security & compliance – Ensure best practices are implemented for infrastructure security.
Skills & Experience We're Looking For
- 5+ years of DevOps/SRE/Infrastructure experience.
- Experience with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, or similar tools.
- Strong background in CI/CD pipelines and automating deployments.
- Experience with scaling web applications & databases.
- A cost-conscious approach to infrastructure—knows how to optimize spend while maintaining performance.
- Ability to lead major infra projects, from Heroku migration to SRE best practices.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup with a bias toward action.
Bonus If
- You have experience migrating off Heroku or handling large-scale infra transitions.
- You’re familiar with Ruby on Rails, React, and Postgres environments.
- You’ve built monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems from scratch.
- You’ve worked directly with founders and small teams to move fast and execute.
