About the Role - Position Description
MegazoneCloud is seeking a Cloud Service Engineer – AWS to join our team in Orange County, CA, supporting our customers across North America. As a key member of the MegazoneCloud Services Delivery team, you will provide AWS cloud support & incident management, proactive maintenance, and technology-based client communication & collaboration (on customers’ challenges) for our enterprise clients. You will work closely with internal teams to troubleshoot incidents, optimize cloud operations, and enhance security and compliance within AWS environments.
This role requires a strong hands-on AWS background and customer-oriented mindset, as you will be dedicated to supporting one of our major enterprise customers. The Cloud Service Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring operational excellence and contributing to future business growth with the client.
Key Responsibilities, but not limited to-
1) AWS Cloud Support & Incident Management
- Provide ongoing AWS technical support, responding to escalations from the monitoring team.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and cloud-related issues.
- Escalate unresolved incidents to appropriate teams and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain incident documentation and update knowledge bases.
2) Client Communication & Collaboration
- Interact with clients to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve AWS-related issues.
- Communicate technical challenges and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on AWS best practices and security compliance.
- Participate in weekly/monthly client discussions to review outstanding issues and improvements.
3) AWS Security & Compliance
- Ensure AWS environments adhere to security and compliance controls.
- Implement security best practices, including IAM policies, VPC configurations, and encryption strategies.
4) Proactive Maintenance & Optimization
- Perform regular system health checks, monitoring, and automation tasks to improve efficiency.
- Optimize AWS workloads for cost-effectiveness, performance, and scalability.
- Work collaboratively with the MegazoneCloud NA team to implement infrastructure enhancements.
5) Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain updated documentation for AWS environments, configurations, and procedures.
- Provide training and mentorship to internal teams on AWS-related topics.
Required Qualifications
- AWS Hands-On Experience: Strong experience managing/implementing complex AWS environments.
- Infrastructure & Operations:
- Minimum 2 years managing on-premise infrastructure or deployment projects.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience managing or deploying AWS cloud environments.
- AWS Incident Management: Ability to respond to alerts, diagnose issues, and resolve incidents efficiently.
- AWS Security & Compliance: Practical knowledge of AWS IAM, VPCs, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
- Client-Facing Communication Skills: Experience working with enterprise clients and handling technical escalations.
- Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve cloud infrastructure challenges.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional global team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing/provisioning/configuring AWS EKS environments.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), such as Terraform.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
- Experience in 24x7 managed services, hosted service providers, or NOC environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and ITSM platforms for incident/change management.
- Hands-on experience with Linux & Windows server administration.
- Understanding of networking, firewalls, load balancers, and security best practices.
- Scripting skills (Python, Shell, PowerShell, etc.) for automation.
- Bilingual in Korean and English (Preferred).
