Job Summary for AWS Cloud Architect - On-site presence required in Erie, PA (local candidates only).
- Design, implement, and optimize solutions on AWS Cloud with a focus on best practices and cost efficiency.
- Architect and manage cloud networking components such as VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, Route 53, NAT Gateway, and hybrid connectivity (VPN, Direct Connect).
- Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK for automated provisioning.
- Ensure security and compliance through AWS IAM, encryption (KMS), SCPs, GuardDuty, AWS Config, and detective controls.
- Apply AWS Well-Architected Framework principles for performance, security, reliability, cost optimization, and operational excellence.
- Work with AWS compute (EC2, Lambda), containers (ECS, EKS), and serverless architectures to deliver scalable, cost-efficient solutions.
- Design and manage storage and data architectures using S3, EFS, FSx, RDS, DynamoDB, and Redshift.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation using AWS Systems Manager and other DevOps tools.
- Establish observability and monitoring using CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or Splunk.
- Develop and manage multi-account AWS environments with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, Landing Zones, and governance policies.
- Collaborate across network, security, application, and DevOps teams to align on cloud strategies.
- Communicate complex technical designs and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead problem-solving and architectural decision-making for large-scale solutions and migration projects.
- Advise leadership with architectural guidance and strategic recommendations.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification, with additional AWS certifications.
- Bring at least 5+ years of hands-on AWS architecture and design experience in enterprise cloud environments.
