As our DevOps Engineer, your primary mission will be ensuring our client environments run smoothly with minimal downtime, while also contributing to development projects when capacity allows.
What you’ll do:
Primary Focus:
· Manage and maintain enterprise application hosting environments on Kubernetes (OpenShift) and AWS
· Set up new client environments from scratch for various enterprise platforms
· Proactively monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they impact clients
· Troubleshoot and resolve hosting environment issues to minimize downtime
· Implement automation tools to streamline environment provisioning and maintenance
· Perform root cause analysis on system failures and implement preventive measures
· Collaborate with clients during environment setup, migrations, and issue resolution
· Create and maintain documentation for hosting procedures and troubleshooting guides
Secondary Focus:
· Support development projects using enterprise platforms and low-code tools
· Develop internal tools and automation using JavaScript and React
· Assist with business requirements analysis and technical solution design
· Participate in testing and debugging of development projects
What you'll bring:
Required:
- 3+ years of infrastructure/systems administration experience
- Kubernetes experience (any distribution - EKS, GKE, vanilla K8s, OpenShift, etc.)
- AWS cloud platform experience
- Experience with enterprise applications (large-scale business software platforms)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Database management experience (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or similar)
- Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments
- Understanding of networking, security, and system monitoring concepts
Highly Preferred:
- OpenShift experience (or strong willingness to learn - it's Kubernetes-based)
- IBM enterprise software experience (TRIRIGA, Maximo, WebSphere, etc.)
- Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Container technologies and orchestration best practices
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Previous hosting/managed services experience
Nice to Have:
- Development experience with JavaScript, React, Node.js
- Business Intelligence and reporting tools experience
- Java development background
- CI/CD pipeline experience
