The AWS Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure within the AWS ecosystem for this Corporation. This role will enable cloud-native solutions to support enterprise data, application, and analytics platforms, ensuring operational excellence, security, and cost-efficiency.
Main Accountabilities:
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS, following best practices and architectural standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, Development, and Product) to gather requirements and translate them into effective cloud-based architectures.
- Develop, manage, and version Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, ensuring repeatability and consistency across environments.
- Automate deployment workflows, monitoring, and incident response through CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation tools.
- Monitor and analyze system performance, availability, and AWS costs; recommend and implement optimization strategies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure cloud infrastructure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., data governance, privacy, and security).
- Provision and manage core AWS services including VPCs, IAM roles/policies, S3, EC2, and others as needed.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies, automated backups, and failover mechanisms to support business continuity
- Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures; manage change control processes and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
- Cloud Experience: At least 4 years’ experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud environments with a focus on AWS
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on with core AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, VPC, etc.
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation
- Networking: Solid understanding of network design principles, routing, DNS, VPN, and firewalls in AWS
- Security & Compliance: Familiarity with AWS security best practices, compliance standards, and monitoring
