Akkodis is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer for a Contract To Hire position based in Mentor OH 44060, We’re ideally looking for applicants with solid exp with Azure/AWS, SaaS, Paas would come as a big plus.
Pay Range: $60-$70/hr. W2, The pay may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of cloud infrastructure technologies, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services. This person will work with the Cloud Architect team to implement cloud solutions and will be responsible for the technical support and maintenance of these solutions.
This position requires a good understanding of cloud technologies, including infrastructure, networking, and security, as well as storage and data technologies.
This position will place emphasis on developing modern and new solutions in a multi-cloud environment.
This includes
- implementation,
- documentation,
- migration, and support.
The Cloud Engineer will need to work directly with other IT teams to understand functional requirements and assist with various technologies.
This person will be expected to compliment diverse global team of architects, engineers, developers, DBA’s who are all at different stages of their career and skill levels; they should also show strong ownership capacity and be able execute tasks to completion, including knowledge transfer and documentation.
Interaction with different business groups is important within this role and requires an understanding of multiple business segments and IT’s impact on their functions (e.g., Healthcare, Life Science and Contract Sterilization, finance, regulatory and audit). Professionalism and cooperation when working with customers, team members and management is essential for success in this role.
Implement and Configure Systems – 55%
- Assists in the integration of technology solutions across disparate IT platforms and business segments.
- Performs testing and evaluation, including development lab activities for new technology solutions.
- Interfaces with software vendors and internal accounting department to facilitate the purchase of hardware and software.
- Stays well-informed of the technological trends and developments in the I.T. industry.
- Implements and configures cloud technology solutions.
- Participates with the Cloud Architect team to implement cloud solutions.
- Performs testing and evaluation of new technology solutions, working with different business units to resolve issues
Technical Support, System Administration, and Maintenance – 25%
Will assist on highly complex technical projects based on the business plan.
- Provide escalation support for all other architects and system administrators and engineers.
- Provides technical support to I.T. systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with system configurations and hardware.
Research and Development– 10%
- Stays well-informed of technology trends and developments in the IT industry.
- Participates in the evaluation and recommendation of software, hardware, and cloud technologies.
- Provides technical support to I.T. systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with system configurations and hardware.
Architecture, Design, Develop and Configure Systems – 10%
- Develops, designs, configures, and implements highly complex I.T. technology solutions.
- Champions a “Cloud first” methodology, such as Platform as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service, Software as a Service.

- Creates functional specifications and design proposals. Including diagrams and architectural documents.
- Participate in the design of Cloud-based infrastructure solutions working alongside Cloud Architects and service domains (e.g., Web, Database, Storage, Networking, IAM) to ensure that initial and anticipated future business requirements are represented.
- Interfaces with software vendors and internal accounting department to facilitate the purchase of hardware and software.
- Makes presentations and proposals to senior I.T. management on projects, designs and initiatives.
Experience Requirements
- In a numbered list, describe specific work experience requirements; include years of experience for each requirement: At least two years of experience in implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Experience with both IaaS and PaaS solutions
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and other cloud technologies.
- Experience with system and application administration with Microsoft technologies.
- Vendor management including license agreements, hardware procurement, software procurement.
- At least 3 years full-time experience or equivalent on-the-job training required.
