A leading Chicago-based technology organization is seeking an AWS Engineer to design, automate, and optimize highly scalable environments. This full-time role focuses on AWS-native services, Terraform infrastructure-as-code, and containerized workloads across Kubernetes and Docker.
As part of a high-performing DevOps team, you’ll own projects from design to deployment, building reusable modules and streamlining CI/CD pipelines. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about automation, cloud innovation, and creating solutions that boost engineering productivity.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of hands-on AWS experience (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS)
- Proficiency with Terraform to build reusable modules and automations
- Experience containerizing applications with Docker and orchestrating via Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipeline creation and management (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
- Strong scripting/programming in Python and/or Bash
- Knowledge of networking, IAM, and AWS security best practices
Desired Skills & Experience
- Monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Exposure to multi-cloud (Azure or GCP)
- Configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Large-scale, high-availability production environment experience
