This international industry leader has an immediate long-term contract opportunity in Spring, TX for a Cloud Engineer (AWS Connectivity Engineer).This position requires working onsite Monday-Friday.
Contract Duration: 12+ months
This role is all about managing and securing the company’s cloud network on Amazon Web Services (AWS). You’ll work with specific AWS networking tools (like VPCs and Transit Gateways) and Fortinet firewalls to keep everything running smoothly and safely. You’ll use coding (Terraform) to build and manage the network setup, ensuring it’s automated and easy to update. The job is full-time onsite in Texas, working closely with a team both there and in Argentina, helping connect and secure hundreds of AWS accounts.
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS networking services (VPCs, Transit Gateways, Direct Connect)
- Proficient with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (writing, running, and updating modules)
- Experience managing Fortinet firewalls (security policies and configuration)
- Familiarity with GitHub and CI/CD workflows for automation
- Ability to collaborate across teams and manage large-scale AWS environments
- Willingness to participate in occasional on-call rotation
- Bonus: AWS Advanced Networking and Fortinet certifications (not mandatory)
Interview Process
- Single technical interview lasting 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Interviewers are the system architect and product owner, both highly technical.
- Focus on deep technical knowledge of AWS networking, Terraform, and relevant scenario questions.
- Candidates must demonstrate readiness to “hit the ground running”.
- Compensation is market rate, flexible depending on candidate expertise but within predefined boundaries.
- Interviews and the role itself are fully onsite in Spring, Texas.
