Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Lead to spearhead the design, implementation, and optimization of our DevOps practices and infrastructure automation strategies. You will lead a team of DevOps engineers, collaborate with development and QA teams, and take full ownership of our CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations. Your expertise will ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of our development and production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the DevOps team and establish best practices for automation, monitoring, configuration management, and release management.
- Define and execute the DevOps roadmap aligning with business and technology goals.
- Advocate for DevOps culture and Agile principles across engineering teams.
CI/CD Pipelines
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines to support multiple applications across various environments.
- Optimize build, test, and deployment processes to accelerate delivery cycles.
- Integrate automated testing, code quality checks, and security scanning into CI/CD workflows.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Architect and implement cloud infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Standardize and automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management.
- Maintain version-controlled IaC repositories to support multi-environment consistency.
Cloud & Infrastructure Management
- Manage and monitor production and staging environments across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Ensure infrastructure is secure, scalable, and cost-optimized.
- Implement disaster recovery, high availability, and failover strategies.
Monitoring & Logging
- Set up proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Datadog, or New Relic.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks.
Security & Compliance
- Implement DevSecOps practices: security checks, secrets management, and compliance automation.
- Work with security teams to enforce secure configurations, vulnerability scanning, and access controls.
Collaboration & Mentoring
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, QA, security, and product teams to align on release and infrastructure needs.
- Mentor junior DevOps engineers and foster knowledge-sharing and continuous learning within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps/Site Reliability Engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or ArgoCD.
- Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) — hands-on with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration in production environments.
- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages: Bash, Python, Go, etc.
- Extensive cloud experience (preferably AWS, but Azure or GCP acceptable).
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Solid understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and security best practices.
