Devops Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure & Kubernetes
We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader to help shape the future of our cloud infrastructure and devop operations. As one of the first hires on our Platform team, you’ll play a critical role in scaling our systems, driving innovation, and ensuring our products run reliably and securely.
This role blends infrastructure development with operational excellence, with a strong focus on Kubernetes orchestration and cloud-native architecture.
What You’ll Be Driving
- Cloud Infrastructure: Build and optimize our environment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), focusing on performance, security, and cost-effectiveness
- CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code: Enhance our automation-first approach to deployments using modern CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
- Kubernetes Leadership: Manage and scale Kubernetes clusters, applying best practices in container orchestration, networking, and security
- Platform Evolution: Partner with developers to continuously improve our platform’s scalability, agility, and technical foundation
- Security Engineering: Implement robust security measures including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management
- Monitoring & Reliability: Set up and maintain systems for logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure platform health
- Regulatory Compliance: Perform audits and penetration tests to meet standards like HIPAA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001
- Resilience Planning: Design and maintain disaster recovery and incident response protocols, with strong backup strategies
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with engineering leaders to align platform capabilities with organizational goals
- Team Building: Help define roles, recruit talent, and mentor platform engineers as the team grows
What You Bring
- We prioritize practical experience and problem-solving ability over formal credentials. Ideal candidates will have experience—or a strong interest—in the following areas:
- Cloud & Kubernetes Expertise: Hands-on experience with GCP and container orchestration using Kubernetes/GKE
- Infrastructure-as-Code: Familiarity with managing infrastructure and dependencies using IaC tools and GitOps practices
- Security & Networking: Solid understanding of cloud-native security, identity management, and microservices networking
- Ops & Automation: Proficiency with tools for monitoring, alerting, and incident management (e.g., PagerDuty)
- Healthcare Knowledge: Either direct experience or a strong desire to learn about healthcare systems, data standards (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR), and industry dynamics
