Cloud Data Engineer
Direct Hire/Perm
Salary Target- $160,000 to $175,000.
Location: Somerville, MA - Onsite 1-3 days a week
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week - 8:30-5 w/ a 30 minute lunch. The start time can be adjusted plus or minus an hour based off of need.
Experience: The Principal Data Engineer will not be doing day-to-day coding or development but needs a development background to support and guide other development teams (20+ teams are supported by this group). The role includes platform-side responsibilities like administration, user provisioning, evaluating new vendor features (with POCs and documentation), and supporting tools. There is also a focus on AI projects and how to start using AI.
Top Candidate Must-Haves:
1. Technical Skills: Strong experience with DBT and Azure DevOps (ADO), and knowledge of Snowflake or other cloud platforms.
2. Leadership and Communication: The ability to lead projects, clearly communicate, collaborate, and guide the rest of the team.
3. Proactiveness: The desire for a candidate who is proactive and partners with the manager in driving projects, as opposed to being passive and requiring constant "nudging".
*The three critical technology tools are Snowflake, DBT, and Azure DevOps (for CI/CD).
