A Cloud Engineer is at the forefront of cloud operations, focusing on development, integration, and process automation. They collaborate with teams, including Finance and Cloud Enablement, to define and maintain standardized practices for using AWS, Azure and Google cloud services. This role specifically focuses on autonomous cloud operations and AI infrastructure orchestration, guiding system design to meet modern technical standards and ensuring a seamless transition to production. The Engineer configures multi-cloud platforms, manages advanced APIs, and integrates applications to bridge diverse cloud architectures.
Your Role
Responsibilities:
- Build and implement governance, security, and networking standards in AWS/Azure environments, with a focus on Zero Trust architecture and disaster recovery.
- Design and configure multi-region cloud solutions, including seamless cross-cloud integration between AWS, Azure and Google.
- Establish and manage high-speed networking solutions like Direct Connect and ExpressRoute, ensuring secure, high-performance traffic flow.
- Monitor cloud systems for performance and reliability using AI-driven insights and OpenTelemetry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish best practices for cloud-native solutions.
- Develop and maintain APIs for cloud systems, translating architectural requirements into serverless and event-driven cloud solutions.
- Participate in software design and code reviews to ensure alignment with functional requirements and modern security standards.
- Create and maintain internal developer platforms (IDPs) to enable self-service cloud deployments.
- Analyze functional requirements and create detailed technical designs that address complex business needs.
- Contribute to strategic planning with a focus on cloud cost optimization (FinOps) and carbon footprint reporting.
- Implement advanced security measures to ensure compliance with global regulatory standards.
- Manage and resolve complex issues related to cloud architecture and system performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years in cloud engineering, with deep expertise in both AWS and Azure ecosystem services.
- Proficiency in Javascript/Typescript, Python, Go, or Java/Kotlin.
- Mastery of CI/CD pipelines and the integration of automated security testing (SAST/DAST).
- Deep experience with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes (EKS/AKS) and Serverless technologies.
- Experience deploying and scaling Large Language Model (LLM) infrastructure or vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate).
- Advanced proficiency with Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane.
- Familiarity with public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding complex cloud strategies.
Nice to Have:
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate infrastructure deployment.
- Deep knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, and Honeycomb for high-cardinality data tracking.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests for infrastructure code (e.g., Terratest).
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
