About The Position
Job Title: Cloud Engineer
Employment Type: Exempt - FT
Location: New York City
Salary Range: USD 140,000.00 - 180,000.00 plus annual discretionary bonus
Under the supervision of the Deputy CTO, the Cloud Engineer will join a small team of talented engineers responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and advancing GQG’s technology infrastructure. The Systems and Cloud Engineer will balance operational support with project-based initiatives and serve as the primary escalation point for the Helpdesk team.
This role requires understanding and experience working with various technology systems, such as cloud-managed network devices (including firewalls and wireless), backups, access control, emergency notifications, email spam filters, ticketing system, DNS etc. In addition to mentioned systems, thorough knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies, including M365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, and Azure Cloud is required. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and troubleshoot Cisco Meraki networks, including switches, firewalls and wireless infrastructure.
- Deploy, secure, and manage endpoints & applications using Intune.
- Proactively monitor and address network performance and security issues.
- Oversee and maintain critical systems, including backups, access control, and the emergency notification system.
- Monitor and maintain security, compliance, and performance across all Microsoft-based systems and services.
- Ensure all systems are up-to-date, secure, and aligned with organizational policies.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues raised by the Helpdesk team.
- Administer, configure, and optimize Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, and Exchange Online.
- Manage Azure Cloud environments and components, such as AVD, storage accounts, VNETs, etc.
- Be responsible to maintain GQG’s ticketing and knowledge base systems – Atlassian Jira/Confluence and SharePoint.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior team members to enhance their technical skills.
- Lead and contribute to technology-related projects, including system migrations, upgrades, and new solutions implementation.
- Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions.
- Create and maintain accurate documentation for systems, processes, and configurations.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT policies and standards.
- Work closely with the Deputy CTO and engineering team to align technology initiatives with organizational goals.
- Communicate technical details and propose solutions clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5+ years of relevant experience required.
- Proven experience in managing and troubleshooting networks, including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Experience managing and supporting additional systems such as backups, access control, and emergency notification systems.
- Considerable knowledge of Microsoft technologies (M365, Entra ID, Intune, Azure Cloud, Conditional Access, MFA).
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administrative tasks.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft AZ-104, Cisco CCNA, etc.).
- Jira, Proofpoint, Zscaler knowledge is a plus, but not required.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
