Summary
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for deploying, automating, and maintaining secure and scalable cloud infrastructure across enterprise environments. This role contributes to solution design by ensuring operational feasibility, automation readiness, and alignment with governance and security standards. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, the Cloud Engineer transforms approved designs into resilient, cost‑effective cloud environments that support business objectives and long‑term scalability. The position requires strong technical expertise, automation capability, and effective collaboration to deliver compliant, efficient, and secure cloud services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Manage and monitor cloud environments to maintain performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
- Automate deployments using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, and Bicep.
- Ensure adherence to governance policies, security standards, and organizational compliance requirements.
- Support incident response efforts and contribute to root cause analysis for cloud‑related issues.
- Maintain and enhance cloud security protocols and guardrails.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and architecture teams to integrate and optimize cloud services.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for cloud architecture, automation processes, and operational procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in cloud computing and infrastructure management.
- Hands‑on experience with automation, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD practices.
- Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure (multi‑cloud experience preferred).
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates.
- Scripting languages: PowerShell, Python.
- CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
- Experience in cloud security, compliance, and remediation workflows.
- Monitoring tools: Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, Sentinel.
- Ability to collaborate with solution architects to translate requirements into scalable designs.
- Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to produce structured, governance‑aligned technical documentation.
- Strong communication and cross‑team collaboration abilities.
- Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Ability to work in an office environment and perform tasks requiring standard office equipment.
