Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Architect to design, build, and optimize enterprise grade CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and release management frameworks for a cloud native data modernization program. The architect will define DevOps standards, automate deployment pipelines, integrate security and compliance controls, and ensure reliable delivery across Development, QA, and Production environments.
This role requires strong hands on experience with Azure DevOps, cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred), Git based workflows, containerization, monitoring, and automated release engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Artifacts)
- Define branching strategies, PR/merge policies, environment isolation, and automated validation workflows
- Build YAML pipelines, reusable templates, shared components, and DevOps frameworks for cross-team adoption
- Architect and automate cloud infrastructure provisioning using IaC (Terraform, ARM, Bicep)
- Automate deployment of:
- Snowflake objects and schemas
- Microsoft Fabric / Synapse artifacts
- Power BI deployment pipelines
- APIs and data ingestion frameworks
- Implement configuration management, environment consistency checks, and automated rollback mechanisms
- Establish Dev → QA → UAT → Prod deployment workflows with approvals and audit traceability
- Manage release calendars, versioning, tagging, rollback strategies, and deployment orchestration
- Standardize non-production environments for data ingestion, Snowflake workloads, BI models, and application components
- Integrate DevSecOps practices including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, policy enforcement, and compliance automation
- Implement monitoring and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and alerting frameworks
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PHI/PII data handling, access governance, and audit logging requirements
- Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, QA, Security, and Product teams on end-to-end release pipelines
- Partner with Data Engineering teams to automate:
- Snowflake ELT deployments
- Schema updates
- dbt job execution
- Ingestion orchestration
- Mentor DevOps engineers and promote best practices in automation, reliability, and cloud engineering
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 10+ years of DevOps experience with strong expertise in Azure DevOps and CI/CD automation
- 4+ years of Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform / ARM / Bicep)
- 4+ years of Azure cloud experience including:
- AKS, Azure Functions
- Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics
- Networking, identity, and security controls
- 4+ years of release management experience across multiple environments with rollback and governance
- 2+ years experience with data and analytics platforms:
- Snowflake
- Microsoft Fabric / Synapse
- Power BI deployment pipelines
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake CI/CD (Terraform, schemachange, GitOps, Liquid)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric DevOps workflows and artifact deployments
- Strong understanding of security and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, AKS)
- Experience in monitoring, observability, and distributed system reliability
