Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cloud/DevOps Engineer to help design, automate, and operate highly available cloud environments supporting mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering teams to build secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure primarily within AWS environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and support cloud-based infrastructure using Amazon Web Services
- Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines to improve system reliability and scalability
- Operate and enhance AWS environments, ensuring performance, security, and availability
- Partner with application development teams to seamlessly onboard and support their workloads
- Monitor production systems, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve operational issues
- Implement best practices for infrastructure automation and configuration management
- Proactively identify opportunities to optimize tools, workflows, and platform performance
- Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to modernize infrastructure
- Perform additional duties as required to support operational objectives
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with U.S. citizenship (mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Software Development
- OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree
- OR 9 years of relevant experience with a High School diploma or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
- Experience deploying and managing applications across containers, operating systems, and cloud platforms
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go
- Familiarity with source control and deployment tools including Git and Flux
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies and modern DevOps toolchains
- Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of joining
Work Arrangement
- Primarily onsite work in San Antonio, TX, with limited hybrid flexibility
- Must be adaptable to schedule changes based on customer and team needs
Preferred Skills
- Existing Security+ certification
- Exposure to large-scale data platforms and technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, NiFi, Hive, Trino, Presto, and similar tools
- Experience with container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, EKS, and related DevOps technologies
- Willingness to participate in on-call support rotations, as required
