Description:
AWS Cloud Capability Delivery Unit is looking for experienced customer-focused AWS Cloud Platform Engineer with technical depth and architecture skills. In this role, he/she will be responsible for managing and developing the AWS cloud platform. This includes working with the development team to deploy applications, managing and scaling the AWS infrastructure, and ensuring high availability of the platform. The engineer will also work closely with the operations team to troubleshoot and resolve issues with the platform.
Specifically, you will be part of customer engaging team of technical PMs and engineers responsible for implementing new custom deployment pipelines and execute POCs and pilot migration projects with modernized approach. Ideally candidates with exposure in Global markets across US, UK, Continental Europe, APAC including Indian market will be preferred.
Experience - A minimum of 10 – 12 years of experience in infrastructure delivery, DevOps position with a software and/or services company.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Implement and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Configure high availability (HA) and zone-level resilience for AWS services.
• Installing, configuring and maintaining Unix/Linux Servers / Virtualization
• Should have experience on Linux AWS ecosystem
• Design and manage disaster recovery (DR) models and failover/failback operations.
• Handle data recovery, secure data copy, and service restoration.
• Manage storage operations such as backup, snapshot, restore, and image management.
• Oversee container operations, including Kubernetes, Docker, auto-scaling, and logging.
• Define and implement auto-scaling policies and launch configurations.
• Monitor and optimize AWS resource performance with CloudWatch Log Insights.
• Manage IAM policies, authentication, authorization, and security compliance.
• Ensure encryption of data at rest and in transit while enforcing secure access.
• Operate AWS networking endpoints, PrivateLink, and governance frameworks.
• Develop automation and CLI-based operations using AWS CLI, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Oversee AWS Service Catalog, Control Tower, and cloud platform change approvals.
• Troubleshoot AWS services and ensure enterprise support enablement.
• Maintain AWS governance, compliance, quotas, limits, and security posture.
Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, MCA, or a related field.
• Subject matter level expertise on AWS DevOps, AWS CloudFormation. AWS Compute (EC2) & Storage, Backup & DR, Monitoring
• Infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g., shell, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation etc)
• Define and establish test, development, release, update, and support processes for the organization’s DevOps operations
• From a development background, the individual will have experience of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC), preferably with hands-on experience working with Python, and be familiar with an agile delivery framework (e.g. Scrum)
• Strong hands-on experience on CI/CD tools like Jenkins, AWS CI/CD etc.
• Perform administration of AWS DevOps, including process modifications, source control, and all other aspects of the features provided by AWS DevOps
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
• Implementing experience with primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, ECS, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, Route53 & S3)
• Maintain automated deployment processes, perform code releases in coordination with other technology team members, provide operational support for production related issues, and administer the release management and version control platforms
• Hands on experience in working with CloudFormation, Terrafrom or AWS SDK.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
• Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively.
• Resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
