Position Summary
The Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure that supports enterprise applications and critical business operations. The Cloud Platform Engineer ensures cloud solutions are reliable, resilient, and aligned with organizational architecture and security standards.
This position will work closely with IT, Security, DevOps, and application teams to plan, deploy, and operate cloud environments. This includes collaborating on infrastructure design, supporting application deployments, addressing security and compliance requirements, and continuously optimizing performance, cost, and availability.
This role will apply strong technical expertise and disciplined operational practices to manage cloud resources, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements. This position is expected to follow established standards while also identifying opportunities to enhance reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
A key part of this role is translating business requirements into practical cloud solutions. This position must balance technical best practices with business needs to deliver cloud infrastructure that is secure, compliant, and capable of supporting current and future growth.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture and Infrastructure
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure across Azure, AWS, or other approved cloud platforms.
- Implement scalable architecture using computers, storage, networking, and identity services.
- Support deployment of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization to balance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Implement and maintain cloud security controls including identity management, network segmentation, encryption, and monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with Security teams to conduct risk assessments, vulnerability remediation, and incident response activities.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; proactively resolve issues and optimize workloads.
- Maintain documentation for cloud environments, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
Collaboration and Support
- Partner with application teams to design cloud-ready solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and escalation support for cloud-related issues.
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed to support critical systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure roles.
- Hands-on experience with Azure and AWS services.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including VPC/VNet design, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, and load balancing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud certifications (Azure Administrator/Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.).
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools
- Experience supporting cross cloud initiatives.
- Background in security hardening and compliance frameworks.

Location:
This position is in office for any candidate residing within 30 miles of the corporate office and remote for all other candidates residing outside that radius.
Pay Disclosure
The starting base pay range for this position is $120k/annually. The actual base is dependent on many factors such as: work experience, business needs, market demands, and other compensation components. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
