Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled GCP Cloud Engineer to join our team in Plano, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role involves working closely with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to build secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud environments that support modern applications and enterprise workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable infrastructure and services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop and maintain cloud architecture, deployment strategies, and infrastructure automation.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or similar frameworks.
- Manage and optimize GCP services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.
- Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and improve delivery efficiency.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of cloud systems.
- Implement security best practices, including IAM roles, network policies, and data protection strategies.
- Work with development teams to migrate and deploy applications to the cloud.
- Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
- Ensure proper logging, monitoring, and alerting using tools like Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.
- Support cloud cost optimization and resource management initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Proficiency in containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of networking concepts, VPC configuration, load balancing, and cloud security.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools within GCP.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems administration.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell scripting.
- Understanding of cloud architecture patterns and microservices-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud migration projects.
- Knowledge of data services such as BigQuery, Pub/Sub, or Dataflow.
- Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodologies.
- Experience implementing security and compliance standards in cloud environments.
- Google Cloud certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud Engineer.
