Job Title: Cloud Engineer
Location: Cincinnati OH (Onsite) - LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY
Vernovis is looking for a Cloud Engineer with 3–5 years of hands-on cloud experience to support and scale a growing Azure environment. This role is heavily focused on infrastructure provisioning, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and operational execution. You will partner closely with Cloud Architects and engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable cloud solutions while helping balance a high volume of cloud-related work.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as a technical point of contact for cloud infrastructure requests, support issues, and project work.
- Provision and manage Azure resources including compute, networking, storage, and identity services.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
- Automate infrastructure deployments to support CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with architects to implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud designs.
- Support commercial cloud technologies and vendor packages such as MongoDB, Elastic, and Confluent Kafka.
- Assist in troubleshooting complex infrastructure and environment-related issues.
- Partner with security teams to ensure cloud configurations align with enterprise security standards.
- Support environment patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities.
- Document configurations, standards, and operational procedures.
- Work across cross-functional teams including application development, networking, database, and platform engineering.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts around automation, reliability, and performance.
What You'll Have:
- 3–5 years of enterprise cloud engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Strong foundation in traditional infrastructure (servers, networking, DNS, identity, Active Directory concepts).
- Demonstrated experience using Terraform and/or Bicep for infrastructure provisioning.
- Experience working with distributed data technologies such as MongoDB, Elastic, or Confluent Kafka.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience supporting cloud environments in production.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to partner across technical teams.
Nice to have:
- Azure certifications.
- Exposure to multi-cloud environments.
- Prior experience in a corporate setting
- Experience contributing to architecture discussions or infrastructure standardization efforts.
