Title: Junior Azure DevOps Engineer
Location: Phoenix, AZ (onsite or hybrid)
Type: Contract
Pay: $35-40/hr
This role supports the development and improvement of cloud delivery pipelines and Azure-based infrastructure. You will work alongside senior engineers to assist development teams with deployment automation, cloud configuration, and platform stability. This position provides hands-on exposure to DevOps practices while helping connect engineering, security, and operations to deliver reliable cloud solutions.
Your Role
- Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub, or GitHub Actions to support application delivery.
- Support automation of build, testing, and deployment workflows for web applications, APIs, and cloud-based solutions.
- Help manage branching, versioning, and release processes under senior guidance.
- Provision and support Azure services including App Services, virtual machines, storage, SQL databases, and networking components.
- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code efforts using tools such as ARM, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Support secure and scalable Azure environment configurations.
- Assist with embedding security scanning, secrets management, and vulnerability checks into deployment pipelines.
- Monitor applications and infrastructure using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues in collaboration with senior engineers.
- Document technical processes and contribute to architecture discussions as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support reliable and efficient cloud operations.
What You’ve Got
- Hands-on experience or strong foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and cloud concepts.
- Understanding of Azure networking, identity, and security fundamentals.
- Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker and basic knowledge of Kubernetes or AKS.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for building pipelines.
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Working knowledge of Git version control.
- One to three years of experience in cloud, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused roles.
- Experience supporting .NET applications including C#, ASP.NET, Web API, or SQL is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.
- Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical teams.
