AWS Cloud Engineer – Role Overview
As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will leverage cloud technologies to design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure that supports critical business applications. This role focuses on delivering secure, high-performing cloud solutions while driving automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement across cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based applications using AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Route 53, and others.
- Architect scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions aligned with best practices.
- Develop and implement infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Ensure infrastructure meets performance, security, and compliance standards.
- Monitor cloud environments using tools like CloudWatch and CloudTrail; provide reporting and metrics.
- Conduct system testing for performance, security, and availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance engineering tools, processes, and security practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture designs and troubleshooting guides.
- Contribute to policy development and governance for cloud usage and compliance.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.
- Implement and manage Amazon Connect (AWS Connect) for cloud-based contact center solutions, including integrations, call flows, and monitoring.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 10+ years of overall IT experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, preferably with AWS.
- Strong expertise in:
- AWS services: EC2, ECS, VPC/Networking, IAM, S3, Lambda, RDS, EMR, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Systems Manager (SSM), Secrets Manager
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible
- CI/CD tools and Git-based workflows
- Experience with Amazon Connect (AWS Connect) including setup, configuration, and integration.
- Solid understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration (on-prem and cloud environments).
- Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with identity and access management solutions such as Okta.
- AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator) are preferred.
