We are seeking a highly skilled Azure API Technical Specialist Lead for an onsite role based in Schaumburg, Illinois. This is a contract position for an initial duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
The selected candidate will play a key role in architecting, designing, and delivering scalable API solutions using Azure technologies. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to align solutions with client requirements and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and develop API solutions using Azure API Management and related services
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Azure API technologies, providing guidance to teams and stakeholders
- Lead and mentor development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality delivery
- Collaborate with clients to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into effective technical solutions
- Review deliverables to ensure compliance with quality standards and project objectives
- Drive continuous improvement by exploring new Azure technologies and implementing industry best practices
Required Skills:
- Expertise in Azure API Management (APIM)
- Strong experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, App Services, and Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and Java
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, along with Git or SVN
- Knowledge of Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Dynatrace monitoring, and SQL
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with agentic AI orchestration patterns
- Exposure to cross-functional enterprise environments (Finance IT, Data & Analytics, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of Angular or UI technologies
- Familiarity with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
