PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Cloud Engineer will engage in cloud projects and operations related to both infrastructure and applications. Working in close collaboration with global teams, local IT teams, and external vendors, you will ensure that business requirements are met while enhancing system scalability and reliability. You are expected to bridge the gap between legacy on-premise systems and modern cloud architectures to drive business agility.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Cloud Architecture & Implementation: Design, build, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant, and secure AWS environments to support diverse business applications.
- Hybrid Cloud Management: Facilitate and execute migration projects from on-premise environments to AWS, leveraging your deep understanding of traditional infrastructure.
- Observability & Monitoring: Design and implement seamless monitoring and log management environments across hybrid (cloud and on-premise) infrastructures. This includes leveraging tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or Dynatrace to ensure proactive incident detection and provide ongoing operational support.
- Automation & Modernization: Drive operational efficiency by implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and establishing robust CI/CD pipelines via GitLab CI.
- Container Orchestration: Manage and optimize containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes to ensure seamless application deployment and scaling.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison between global/local stakeholders and vendors, ensuring clear communication of technical requirements and project status.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor system performance, provide troubleshooting support for complex infrastructure issues, and continuously improve the security posture of the cloud environment.
REQUIREMENT:
Mandatory
- AWS Expertise: Deep technical knowledge equivalent to AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional level. Hands-on experience with core services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, Cognito, etc.) is mandatory.
- Modern DevOps Tools: Proficiency in Terraform (IaC) and GitLab CI (CI/CD).
- Containerization: Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Scripting: Ability to automate tasks using Python, Ruby, or similar languages.
- System Administration: Solid understanding of Linux/Windows Server/AAD administration and Database & Firewall fundamentals.
- End-to-End Delivery: Proven track record in both upstream (Requirement Definition/Design) and downstream (Coding/Testing/Operations) processes.
Preferable
- Infrastructure Background: Minimum of 3 years of experience in on-premise or hybrid cloud infrastructure (Server, Storage, Network).
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Japanese: Native-level proficiency (JLPT N1 or equivalent) for seamless communication with local stakeholders and vendors.
- English: Business-level proficiency (Speaking/Writing) for collaboration with global teams and technical documentation.
