DevOps / SRE Intern — Job Description
About the Role
We're looking for a curious, hands-on DevOps/SRE Intern to join our infrastructure team. You'll work alongside senior engineers to build, automate, and maintain the systems that keep our services reliable and fast.
What You'll Do
- Write and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
- Help manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi)
- Containerize services with Docker and deploy to Kubernetes clusters
- Build monitoring dashboards and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
- Automate toil through scripts (Python, Bash, Go)
- Participate in incident response, post-mortems, and on-call shadowing
- Contribute to internal developer platforms and documentation
What We're Looking For
- Pursuing a degree in CS, IT, or a related field
- Comfortable with Linux, Git, and the command line
- Basic understanding of networking (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, load balancing)
- Exposure to at least one cloud provider and containerization concepts
- Familiarity with at least one scripting/programming language
- A reliability mindset — you think about what breaks, not just what works
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, or ArgoCD
- Exposure to observability practices (logs, metrics, traces)
- Familiarity with GitOps workflows or service meshes
- Any cloud certification (even associate-level)
