Systems Engineer - Azure
As an Azure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the firm’s Microsoft Azure cloud environment. You will play a key role in ensuring high availability, security, and performance of legal applications and infrastructure, enabling the firm’s ongoing growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage the firm’s Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
- Integrate Azure with on-premises systems and legal applications in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Administer Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), including identity governance, access controls, and security configurations.
- Implement cloud security controls aligned with industry standards and legal compliance.
- Support Azure Virtual Machines, networking, storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Automate infrastructure deployment and management using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, ARM, or Bicep, along with scripting languages like PowerShell and Azure CLI.
- Monitor performance, optimize costs, and ensure system availability with Azure management tools.
- Support cloud-hosted legal platforms, ensuring high availability of document management, practice management, and financial systems.
- Collaborate with security and IT teams to maintain secure, compliant operations.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity efforts.
- Assist with vendor coordination, cloud governance, and client security audits.
- Engineer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) workloads in Azure, including patching, hardening, and performance tuning.
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supporting large-scale infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience managing hybrid cloud environments, integrating on-premises systems with Azure.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty) preferred.
- Strong security experience, especially in regulated or professional services environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring, performance optimization, and Azure cost management tools.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience with Citrix to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) migrations or VMware to Azure migrations.
- Knowledge of legal technology cloud services such as document management and e-discovery platforms.
- Experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) workloads in Azure.
