We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer who thrives on building secure, scalable cloud infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in powering a UK-based payroll platform that handles highly sensitive financial and employee data—where uptime, security, and compliance are critical.
What You’ll Do
- Architect, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure for a production-grade payroll system
- Design secure multi-tenant environments with strict data isolation (Companies, Bureaus, Employees)
- Implement and enforce RBAC, IAM policies, and least-privilege access controls
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for seamless, zero-downtime deployments across teams
- Handle secrets management, encryption, and compliance for sensitive PII (bank details, SSNs, etc.)
- Monitor system performance, configure alerts, and respond to incidents using CloudWatch/Datadog
- Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and ensure GDPR/UK compliance readiness
- Collaborate closely with backend, frontend, and AI teams to streamline deployments
Must-Have Skills
- 2–3 years of hands-on DevOps experience on AWS (production environment)
- Strong expertise in:
- EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM
- ECS/EKS, Lambda, CloudFront, CloudWatch
- Solid understanding of cloud security architecture:
- RBAC, IAM policies
- Encryption (at rest & in transit), SSL/TLS
- Secrets management (AWS Secrets Manager / SSM Parameter Store)
- Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
- Proficiency in Terraform or CloudFormation (Infrastructure as Code)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
- Familiarity with GDPR / UK data privacy regulations
- Strong Linux and networking fundamentals
