We are partnered with an established firm to look for a , hands-on Technical Leader to drive the transformation of a global network infrastructure into a code-driven, automated ecosystem.
This is not a traditional infrastructure role; it is a Network Reliability Engineering (NRE) position designed for someone who views networking through the lens of software engineering.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of long-term strategies for network automation and observability across global data centers and hybrid cloud environments.
- Develop production-grade automation frameworks using Ansible, Python, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement GitOps practices for network configuration management, including automated testing and continuous deployment.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for core network domains including routing, switching, firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint), and load balancing.
- Integrate automation workflows with enterprise DevOps toolchains such as GitHub and Terraform.
- Define and implement network SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets in collaboration with SRE and platform teams.
- Mentor and upskill the broader network engineering team in coding standards and automation best practices.
Requirements
- Automation & Scripting: Deep expertise in Ansible (collections/roles) and Python (libraries/API integrations).
- Network Fundamentals: Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and WAN optimization.
- Infrastructure as Code: Proven experience with Terraform and Git-based workflows.
- Security Automation: Experience automating firewall policies and compliance validation (e.g., AlgoSec).
- Observability: Proficiency with telemetry pipelines using Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK stacks.
- Vendor Exposure: Hands-on experience with Cisco, Arista, Zscaler, AWS, and F5.
