Job Summary
LPL Financial Corp is seeking an experienced IT Release Manager to oversee the end-to-end release management process for our critical IT systems and applications. This role ensures the coordinated and successful delivery of software releases, maintaining stability and quality across our technology landscape.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain release plan in alignment with LPL release management practices
- Plan, schedule, and control the release lifecycle, including scheduling, coordinating, and managing release activities from development to production.
- Collaborate closely with development, quality assurance, operations, and business teams to ensure release readiness and successful deployment.
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
- Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and business go/no-go reviews.
- Communicate release details and schedules to the organization and key stakeholders.
- Define and report on key release metrics and KPIs, providing insights for continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all releases adhere to change management protocols and security best practices.
- Facilitate post-release reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for process enhancement.
- Oversee the management of release environments and ensure their configuration aligns with release requirements.
- Drive the automation of release processes where feasible to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in IT Release Management, Project Management, or a similar role within a large enterprise, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Proven experience with release management tools and methodologies (e.g., Jira, DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, ITIL).
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple releases concurrently.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- ITIL Foundation certification is required; ITIL Intermediate or Expert certification preferred.
