Senior Cloud Engineer (Contract)
We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join an Infrastructure Engineering team in a hands‑on, execution‑focused role. This is a contract opportunity with a strong emphasis on AWS, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure delivery, working closely with application teams.
This environment does not currently have a formal DevOps team, so this role will play a key part in building, improving, and maturing CI/CD and DevOps‑style practices.
What You’ll Do
- Build, support, and enhance CI/CD pipelines (GitHub‑based)
- Troubleshoot cloud, pipeline, and deployment issues tied to both project work and intake requests
- Partner directly with application teams to support deployments and cloud operations
- Perform hands‑on AWS infrastructure engineering, including serverless workloads
- Contribute to broader DevOps practices in a growing environment
- Support ongoing infrastructure modernization initiatives
Technology Environment
- Cloud: AWS
- Infrastructure as Code: CloudFormation (current)
- Terraform under consideration for future adoption
- CI/CD: GitHub
- Architecture: Serverless transactions and services
- Focus: AWS, CI/CD, infrastructure engineering
Team & Collaboration
You’ll collaborate with a lean infrastructure group consisting of:
- 2 Cloud Engineers
- 2 Systems Engineers
- 2 Desktop Engineers
This role works cross‑functionally across infrastructure, systems, and endpoint teams.
Ideal Background
- Senior‑level cloud engineer with strong hands‑on AWS experience
- Real‑world experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Comfortable operating independently without a formal DevOps team
- Able to balance troubleshooting, project delivery, and request‑based work
- Execution‑oriented and pragmatic in cloud environments
