Job Title: Cloud Engineer

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that align with business needs and technology roadmaps.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the implementation of GCP data architecture in collaboration with system integrators and stakeholders.
- Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP.
- Translate business requirements into cloud architecture designs and provide operational support to application teams.
- Develop and maintain cloud data migration strategies, identifying gaps and recommending remediation plans.
- Ensure security, availability, and performance of GCP resources through proper design and configuration.
- Implement and optimize infrastructure solutions including networks, storage, databases, compute, and IAM.
- Define and enforce governance policies for resource tagging, access controls, and cost management.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve GCP infrastructure issues to ensure high availability.
- Stay current with GCP advancements and recommend continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with data architects, developers, IT, security, and cloud providers for seamless integration.
- Work with DevOps and IaC tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Terraform).
- Design and develop automation scripts where appropriate.
Qualifications
Required:
- Extensive knowledge of GCP infrastructure, services, and database solutions (BigQuery, Cloud Spanner, Dataflow, Dataproc, etc.)
- Proven track record in architecting, designing, and managing cloud systems, including hybrid architectures
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of public cloud administration experience (GCP)
Preferred:
- 5+ years of cloud administration experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- Certifications: GCP Cloud Engineer, GCP Cloud Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional
Skills & Abilities
- Hands-on experience with native cloud technologies and automation tools (Jenkins, Terraform, Chef, Cloud Custodian).
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Expertise in cloud governance, compliance, and security.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
