About the Role
Brooksource is hiring a Cloud Operations Engineer to join our Fortune 1000 financial services client's platform team. This group supports web and batch services for commercial clients including lenders, automotive dealerships, and credit card companies — running on Google Cloud. This is a support-focused role ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping systems stable, responds well under pressure, and is eager to grow their cloud skills in a mature GCP environment.
What You'll Do
- Monitor system health and respond to incidents in a 24/7 operational environment
- Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across GCP-hosted applications and infrastructure
- Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Assist with change management and disaster recovery procedures
- Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve reliability issues
- Document runbooks, incident reports, and operational processes
- Contribute to automation and operational improvements over time
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in a systems, cloud operations, DevOps, or SRE role
- Hands-on experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) — required
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools; Datadog experience is a plus
- Comfortable working in Linux environments and writing basic scripts (Python or Bash)
- Experience supporting distributed systems and troubleshooting production issues
- Strong communication skills and a calm, methodical approach to incident response
Financial services or regulated industry experience is a plus, not a requirement
