Enterprise, Cloud & DevOps Architect Lead
Role Title: Enterprise, Cloud & DevOps Architect Lead
Career Level: CL6 – Senior Manager| Function: Professional Services | Experience: 12–18 years
Role Summary
The Enterprise, Cloud & DevOps Architect Lead owns the end-to-end solution architecture, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps deployment blueprint for client implementations on Synops. Acting as the singular architectural authority within Professional Services, this role ensures every implementation is scalable, secure, cloud-native, automated, and aligned with client business objectives — translating goals into AI-enabled, continuously-deliverable, and extensible technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Ownership & Architecture Governance
- Define and govern end-to-end solution and cloud architecture blueprints across all Client deployments; ensure alignment with client objectives, platform capabilities, and cloud infrastructure strategy.
- Design multi-cloud strategies (Azure, AWS, GCP) with cloud-native patterns — microservices, serverless, event-driven, containerized architectures, VPC design, and service mesh.
- Govern design reviews, technical risk assessments, and validate scalability, resilience, SLA, and SRE targets.
Integration & Data Flow
- Design integration touchpoints, APIs, ETL, and data flow strategies with client systems (ERP, CRM, AI engines, cloud services); define reusable reference architectures and MDM standards.
DevOps Architecture & CI/CD Pipeline Design
- Architect end-to-end CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab); define DevSecOps standards with embedded security gates, SAST/DAST, and vulnerability scanning.
- Establish IaC standards (Terraform, Bicep, Pulumi, ARM), GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux), and shift-left testing practices across pipeline stages.
Deployment Strategy & Release Engineering
- Design and govern deployment strategies (blue-green, canary, feature flags, rolling updates); define environment promotion models (Dev → Staging → Pre-Prod → Prod) with quality gates.
- Drive containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes — AKS/EKS/GKE) with secret management (Vault, Azure Key Vault, AWS Secrets Manager) and full rollback capabilities.
Security, Compliance & Cloud Governance
- Implement guardrails for data privacy, IAM, RBAC, zero-trust architecture, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, SOC2, ISO 27001); govern cloud landing zones, policy-as-code, and cost governance.
Functional Alignment & Business Enablement
- Translate business processes into scalable technical designs; partner with functional consultants on workflow orchestration, automation, AI/ML-driven features, and client KPI alignment.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Bridge client stakeholders (CIO, CTO, IT/Cloud Architects, Functional Leads), Product Engineering, Delivery, Security, and Support teams; lead architecture walkthroughs, design sign-offs, and DevOps maturity assessments; maintain ADR, runbook library, and traceability log.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Expertise
- Strong background in enterprise architecture for SaaS platforms with deep expertise in cloud-native architectures on Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.
- Hands-on experience with cloud services (compute, storage, networking, databases, serverless, containers); expertise in AI/ML, workflow orchestration, and automation.
- Proficiency in CI/CD toolchains, IaC (Terraform/Bicep/Pulumi), Docker, Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE), GitOps tools, and service mesh (Istio/Linkerd).
- Deep understanding of data architecture, ETL, MDM, integration patterns, and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK).
- Familiarity with SRE principles, chaos engineering, and security/compliance frameworks (CIS, NIST, GDPR, SOC2, ISO 27001).
Functional & Business Acumen
- Ability to map business processes to technical solutions across solution, cloud, and DevOps layers; experience in digital transformation, multi-system integration, cloud migration, and agile delivery.
Soft Skills
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management; strategic thinking to simplify complexity for C-suite audiences; strong mentorship and cross-functional leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field; 12–18 years of progressive experience in solution architecture, cloud architecture, DevOps, or platform engineering.
Success Metrics
- Architectural consistency and compliance across all solution, cloud, and DevOps deployments; reduction in custom integrations via standardized reference architectures.
- Improvement in DORA metrics — deployment frequency, lead time for change, change failure rate, and MTTR — driven by CI/CD automation and SRE practices.
- Measurable reduction in cloud spend (FinOps); improved deployment cycle time, scalability outcomes, and client satisfaction tied to architecture quality.
- Contribution to reusable IaC templates, pipeline blueprints, architecture runbooks, and PS practice accelerators.
