AWS Engineer (Contract | 3–6 Months)

We are seeking an experienced AWS Engineer to support a large enterprise client with cloud infrastructure engineering, automation, and security initiatives. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and supporting scalable AWS cloud solutions in a complex hybrid environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud infrastructure, application architecture, and security architecture within AWS
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies, best practices, and enterprise standards
- Partner with IT teams, leadership, and cloud vendors to build and support cloud hosting services
- Develop automation tools and Infrastructure as Code solutions to improve scalability, availability, and operational efficiency
- Monitor production and development environments and implement proactive reliability measures
- Collaborate across infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, and product teams to deliver consistent solutions
- Support infrastructure projects, including endpoint security and network-related initiatives
- Manage configuration and change control processes within enterprise environments
- Perform root cause analysis on production issues and drive corrective action plans
- Create and maintain technical and end-user documentation
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, system administration, and application support/development
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies and modern cloud computing trends
- Deep expertise with:
- ALB
- EC2
- ECS
- S3
- VPCs
- VPN configurations
- Strong knowledge of AWS security best practices, including IAM roles/policies and secure VPC design
- Experience developing Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across hybrid on-prem and AWS environments
- Experience designing cloud architecture solutions aligned to enterprise business needs
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent IT projects across the full project lifecycle
- Knowledge of enterprise networking concepts including routing, switching, remote access, proxy, and security
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Experience creating both technical and non-technical documentation
