SKILLS REQUIRED
Primary (Must-Have):
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing AWS CDK and CloudFormation to eliminate ClickOps.
- Extensive experience orchestrating containers using AWS ECS and optimizing AWS CloudFront for content delivery.
- Hands-on experience building and supporting end-to-end CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Deep knowledge of AWS production workloads, VPC design, security group segmentation, and PCI-compliant environments.
- Proven track record in automated deployment and branch-based workflows for Java and Windows/.NET applications.
Secondary (Good to Have):
- Experience with disaster recovery readiness planning and large-scale cloud account hygiene/resource optimization.
- Familiarity with artifact promotion mechanisms across multi-tier environments.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills in a remote, fast-paced enterprise setting.
POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking a seasoned, elite AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer for a high-impact, fully remote contract engagement supporting our client, Wyndham, based out of Orlando, FL (operating on EST). Bringing 15+ years of robust IT experience, the ideal candidate will drive the automation, scalability, and security of our cloud infrastructure. You will be instrumental in eliminating manual execution steps, optimizing CI/CD pipelines for diverse application stacks, and ensuring top-tier AWS account hygiene within highly regulated, PCI-compliant environments.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Architect, operate, and support production workloads within AWS (ARN environments), ensuring robust VPC design, strict security group segmentation (PCI), and high-availability ECS-based services.
- Design, build, and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions to support seamless deployments for Java and Windows/.NET applications.
- Standardize and scale infrastructure automation across shared accounts by authoring repeatable code with AWS CDK and CloudFormation, successfully driving the elimination of ClickOps.
- Manage comprehensive cloud hygiene and resilience initiatives, including configuring real-time alerts, executing legacy resource cleanups, and ensuring strict disaster recovery readiness.
- Implement branch-based workflows and structured artifact promotion mechanisms to ensure seamless, reliable code transitions across multi-stage environments.
