Renate is Looking for: DevOps Engineer Intern
The Role As DevOps Engineer Intern at Renate, you own infrastructure end-to-end. This is not a "help out with deployments" seat. You manage every server, every pipeline, every deployment, and every alert. When something breaks, you are the first to know and the first to fix. You build the rails that the rest of the engineering team ships on, harden the platform as we scale, and make sure clients never
feel a hiccup. You report directly to the founder.
Your Impact
- Own all cloud infrastructure end-to-end, including provisioning, configuration, scaling, and cost management
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines so every engineer can ship safely and quickly
- Manage production deployments across services with zero or near-zero downtime
- Keep servers running 24/7, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-mortem write-ups
- Harden the platform on security, including secrets management, IAM policies, firewall rules, and SSL/TLS
- Set up and maintain observability across the stack, including logs, metrics, traces, and uptime dashboards
- Automate everything that gets done twice, from backups to provisioning to log rotation
- Manage databases at the operational level, including backups, replication, restoration drills, and performance tuning
- Coordinate with backend, frontend, and AI engineers to unblock deployments and resolve infrastructure issues fast
- Track every incident, fix, and change in a shared log reviewed regularly with the founder
What You Bring
- Genuine hands-on ability, where you have actually deployed and managed real infrastructure, not just completed tutorials
- Working command of Linux, Docker, at least one major cloud provider, and CI/CD tooling
- Calm temperament under pressure, where production going down energizes you instead of panicking you

- A homelab, personal cloud setup, or side project where you have run real infrastructure with measurable uptime
- Experience with Kubernetes in production (not just local clusters)

- Exposure to managing infrastructure for AI or ML workloads (GPU instances, model serving)
- Understanding of cost optimization at the cloud provider level
