Software Specialist Engineer II
We are seeking a Software Specialist Engineer II to support cloud-native applications and platform operations within Deloitte’s Tax Technology organization. In this role, you will help improve reliability, scalability, and deployment efficiency across application and infrastructure environments. You will work closely with development and engineering teams to strengthen operational performance, automate key processes, and support stable, high-performing internal business solutions.
Work you'll do
As a Software Specialist Engineer II on the GP&S team, you will be responsible for…
- Supporting cloud-native web applications and application programming interfaces (APIs) on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Designing, implementing, and managing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps and YAML pipelines
- Managing Kubernetes workloads on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), including deployments, scaling, and production issue resolution
- Enhancing and maintaining Terraform-based infrastructure, including code updates, state management, and deployment troubleshooting
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving application, API, and infrastructure performance across development, staging, and production environments

Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or another technical or scientific field
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure engineering, site reliability engineering, or platform engineering
- Experience supporting production web applications and REST APIs on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience working with Kubernetes and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), including deployments, services, ingress, and autoscaling
- Experience building and managing infrastructure as code using Terraform, including state management and deployment troubleshooting
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and YAML pipelines
- Experience with Linux administration and scripting using Shell or Python
Preferred:
- Experience supporting multi-environment release management across development, staging, and production
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting using Amazon CloudWatch
- Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes, API, and infrastructure issues in production environments
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional and global teams
