CLOUD ENGINEER
Verotis is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to fill a critical position in supporting our client in McLean, Virginia. The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for delivering and supporting cloud-native solutions to support mission applications and systems.

Functional Responsibilities
- Work closely with the software development teams to design and implement systems using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Design and manage end-to-end CI/CD pipelines that deploy consistently across local servers and cloud environments.
- Focus on developing processes and practices that emphasize scalability and re-usability as we deploy multiple instances of our software
- Take ownership of our existing infrastructure and work to improve its efficiency and quality
- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
- Act as the subject matter expert of cloud management and lead our team towards industry best practices
- Write and run ad-hoc scripts (using Bash, Python etc.) to automate DevOps processes
- Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation for automated provisioning and configuration management.
- Provide deployment support by deploying applications and microservices in cloud environments.
Qualifications

- Bachelor s degree in computer science or a related field
- 3 years' experience as a cloud engineer supporting programs using C2S or C2E.
- 3 years' experience with Terraform or other commercial cloud vendor agnostic IaC/CaC tool.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with LLM and AWS Bedrock
- Hands-on experience with AWS managed services (VPC, EC2, EKS, RDS), including monitoring and analytics tools such as AWS CloudWatch
- Proficient scripting skills (Bash, Perl, Python)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between engineering complexities and business objectives.
