Role: Azure DevOps Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to support enterprise-scale digital transformation and cloud infrastructure initiatives for a leading global BFSI client.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Azure Cloud, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, container technologies, automation, observability, release management, production support, and security-focused infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, refine, and implement DevOps processes, including roles and responsibilities, configuration management, environment management, and quality gates for project and product environments.
- Work closely with architects, development teams, and technical leads to enhance the DevOps toolchain and build tools that support stable business solutions.
- Contribute to architectural decision-making on DevOps topics by applying enterprise guidelines, standards, and best practices.
- Implement best practices for system configuration, monitoring, performance optimization, and operational reliability.
- Explore and analyse new features, limitations, and developments within global DevOps practices and enterprise-standard solutions.
- Manage DevOps processes across infrastructure, platform, and application lifecycle environments.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and actively participate in knowledge-sharing activities such as communities of practice and technical exchanges.
- Evaluate the impact of regulatory topics such as DORA and support compliance-related activities.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance the overall security posture.
- Own and manage the release management process, including release planning with other leads.
- Manage existing infrastructure, platform, and application environments.
- Own and perform regulatory compliance, security, disaster recovery, penetration testing, and release management activities.
- Collaborate effectively with other leads, DevOps teams, architects, and delivery stakeholders.
- Enhance existing DevOps toolchains and build operational tools to improve delivery efficiency.
- Support production-grade systems and services with a focus on stability, security, and performance.
Key Requirements
- 4 to 10 years of overall experience in DevOps / Cloud / Infrastructure Engineering.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in DevOps technologies and practices.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure public cloud stack.
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong automation experience using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, and ELK Stack.
- Ability to lead DevOps practices within a team environment.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience supporting production systems or services based on cloud, container, automation, and CI/CD technologies.
- Good experience in scripting and automation.
- Strong understanding of traditional enterprise technology stacks and enterprise networking concepts.
- Basic understanding of Agile software development frameworks such as Scrum.
- Experience using tools such as Jira.
- Experience working on security enhancements within infrastructure and operations scope.
- Previous experience owning and handling release management processes.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Open-minded approach, curiosity, and ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
Good to Have
- Experience working with change management for production-grade applications.
- Basic understanding of regulations such as DORA.
- Programming knowledge and experience in any general-purpose programming language for at least 1 year.
- Experience in relational database operations for at least 1 year.
- Strong understanding of traditional enterprise technology stacks and enterprise networking concepts.
- Experience or sound knowledge of managing blockchain-based solutions will be a big plus.
