Role Summary
The AWS Cloud Engineer will help scale and mature a large enterprise AWS environment by building secure, scalable cloud platforms. This role focuses on Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, cloud governance, security controls, and cloud architecture practices. Working within a multi-account AWS setup, the engineer will partner across teams to support AWS adoption while maintaining strong governance and compliance standards. The role also contributes to architecture decisions that enable teams to move quickly with least-privilege access and reliable operational controls.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Design, implement, and continuously improve AWS cloud infrastructure and architecture
- Support a large multi-account AWS environment
- Create and maintain AWS governance controls, guardrails, and security policies
- Design and manage IAM policies, permission sets, and access controls using least-privilege principles
- Implement monitoring, detective controls, and compliance-focused solutions
- Partner with application and infrastructure teams to accelerate AWS adoption
- Evaluate new AWS services and establish appropriate governance and security controls
- Contribute to cloud architecture decisions and long-term platform strategy
- Support modern application and AI workloads using AWS managed and serverless services
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience supporting large-scale AWS environments
- Knowledge of multi-account AWS architectures and landing zone concepts
- Experience creating and managing IAM policies and access controls
- Strong understanding of AWS governance, security, and compliance best practices
- Experience in cloud architecture and solution design
- Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
- AWS certifications are a plus, but not required
- Ability to work effectively across teams to support cloud adoption and operational standards
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Publishing Pay Range: $70.00 – $78.00 hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
