Cloud Engineer / Platform Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer - San Francisco, CA

We're working with one of the most exciting AI startups in San Francisco. While most AI models learn from massive amounts of human-generated data, this team is building something different: environments where AI agents learn by actually using computers and gaining experience. Think reinforcement learning for real-world computer use. Founded by a small team of Princeton graduates, they've recently raised a seed round and are now scaling both their platform and engineering team. As one of the first infrastructure hires, you'll work directly with the CTO to build the cloud platform powering next-generation AI training environments.
What you'll be doing:
- Building production cloud infrastructure from the ground up
- Designing and scaling Kubernetes-based systems
- Owning Terraform and infrastructure-as-code workflows
- Creating reliable CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Managing PostgreSQL at production scale
- Building observability platforms across logs, metrics and traces
- Architecting systems that can evolve alongside rapidly advancing AI capabilities

What we're looking for:
- 5-12 years operating production cloud infrastructure
- Experience building cloud platforms from scratch
- Strong Kubernetes and container orchestration expertise
- Deep Terraform/IaC experience at scale
- Production networking, security and observability knowledge
- Startup or high-growth environment experience
- Computer Science degree from a top-30 university program
