Role Description This is a full-time, on-site DevOps Engineer role based in Albany, NY. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain infrastructure and deployment pipelines to support high-availability web applications and services. Responsibilities include managing and automating server environments, monitoring system performance, and ensuring system security, reliability, and scalability. The role involves collaborating closely with software development teams to streamline continuous integration and delivery, troubleshoot issues across the stack, and improve release processes. The DevOps Engineer will also document infrastructure, implement best practices for configuration management, and contribute to ongoing process and tooling improvements.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) to provision and manage environments programmatically.
- Experience collaborating with Software Development teams, including familiarity with modern development workflows, version control (e.g., Git), and scripting or programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
- Solid System Administration skills, including server configuration, monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in production environments.
- Proficiency with Linux-based operating systems, including shell scripting, package management, and security hardening.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stack) and basic networking concepts (DNS, load balancing, firewalls).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, collaborative mindset, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to cross-functional partners.
