Role Overview
Axslogic is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building, automating, securing, and maintaining a highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud platform that hosts our patented SaaS and Managed SaaS solutions, delivering Early Warning and Predictive Analytics capabilities to financial institutions.
This role requires hands-on experience with DevOps tools and practices, AWS cloud infrastructure and a solid understanding of cloud security and operational best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps
- Deploy, manage, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, Auto Scaling, Load Balancers, and related services.
- Administer and optimize relational databases such as PostgreSQL, H2, or similar.
- Develop automation scripts and utilities using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot ETL and data processing workflows to ensure reliable and efficient execution.
- Configure and manage workflow orchestration platforms such as Apache Airflow.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable software delivery.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Manage and optimize containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/ECS).
- Monitor infrastructure health, system performance, availability, and capacity while proactively identifying and resolving production issues.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions to ensure platform resilience.
- Collaborate with Development and QA teams to improve deployment processes, release automation, and platform scalability.
Security & Compliance
- Implement DevSecOps practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Manage IAM policies, secrets management, encryption, network security, vulnerability remediation, and security monitoring.
- Ensure infrastructure complies with organizational security standards and industry best practices.
- Support compliance initiatives including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Participate in security audits, risk assessments, and remediation activities.
Monitoring & Operations
- Implement centralized logging, monitoring, alerting, and observability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and operational excellence of production systems.
- Participate in on-call support and incident response activities, when required.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Engineering, QA, Product, and Security teams to deliver reliable cloud-native solutions.
- Participate in infrastructure architecture, capacity planning, and technology evaluation discussions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, DevOps tools, and industry best practices.
- Continuously identify opportunities for automation, cost optimization, and operational efficiency improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering Graduate from a top-tier college.
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/ECS).
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, H2, or similar.
- Experience designing and maintaining ETL pipelines and workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, including IAM, networking, secrets management, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Experience supporting production environments handling sensitive financial or regulated data.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent AWS certifications.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms and cloud-native architectures.
- Understanding of financial services, banking, lending, or analytics platforms.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
